My artistic journey took an unexpected turn after my trip to Germany, as I found myself awakened at 2:00 in the morning. Eager to embrace the silence and solitude, I ventured out to capture the essence of those early hours on canvas. This particular painting came to life at the crack of dawn, set against the serene backdrop of the beach. With an emphasis on the emotive response to the night and the delicate interplay of grief, I sought to translate the ethereal beauty and introspection that accompany the awakening of a new day. I make my oil paintings are from professional grade oil paints. I allow the brilliance of the colors to enhance the view and emotion of the work. The goal is to express the Southern California light and the feeling of the day in which I painted it.
