Artist Statement: Twin Trunk Cypress
The Twin Cypress pastel drawing captures the graceful interplay of two Tsuyama Hinoki trunks, their forms dancing in harmonious balance. The twin trunks accentuate each other, creating a dynamic yet serene composition.
What captivated me about this bonsai is its unique foliage, which adds texture and vitality to the piece. Juxtaposed against an organic and geometric background, the foliage becomes a focal point, bridging the natural and abstract elements. This work celebrates the elegance of bonsai while exploring the beauty found in contrast and balance.
